Most of you already know, but for the record, this a GMC Jimmy undergoing a SFA conversion. The axle I am using here is a Dana 44 out of early Bronco. Today I bolted up the original EB steering linkage to see how it fits. Not even close!!! The end that is supposed to accept my pitman-arm is about 6 or 8" too far away, on the other side of the frame-rail!!! Quite simply, I need a shorter drag-link. Does anyone know if there is something I can do besides have a custom linkage made up? Any suggestions on maybe some other linkage to try? I have posted a pic, maybe you can see what I mean. The wheels are centered, and the pitman arm is kind of visible. It's not actually installed on the box, but I set it there so you can see about where it is.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just get a new draglink made. It's not that expensive, and parts are readily available. I used a stock GM 3 piece tierod, usually on 80s Blazers and Suburbans. Cut the right hand thread end, take it to a machine shop that can shorten/rethread/weld, and then get two draglinks for any mid 80s 1 ton. I can't think of the part numbers, maybe someone else has them. Depending on where you are in upstate, I could send you or drive there.
