Is it possible to put in another alternator in my 89 trooper 2.6L with more juice? I was thinking (or should I say hoping) to bolt a new alternator that say came with the V6 with power everything. I just about replaced everything on this sucker since i got it and last friday my driveshaft busted off at the u-joint as i was jumping off the freeway. I lucked out that a buddy lived right down the street. I was able to leave it there and fix it the following day.

Yes, if you are willing/able to fab new mounting brackets and work out the wiring. As far as direct drop-ins, the biggest you can get is the 60A alt that came with AC equiped vehicles. Non-AC trucks got a 50A. I have been saying for 2 years that I am going to fab up a bracket to put a second/larger alt where the smog pump used to be........... unfortunately saying something isnt the same as doig it

lol, right on, thats kinda what i was figuring. 60 is better than the 50 i suppose. There's a lot of room in there for larger one, especially with the 2.6. I was looking at picking up that two battery thing from matt's site as well. thanks for the reply dude!
