: Making Inner Fender Wells
tamujin 05-12-2004, 09:28 PM I am looking for some advice/pictures concerning inner fender wells. I am going to make some for my Faultline Fabrication tube fenders and I am sure there are some do's and don'ts for these things. I am going to mount my OBA stuff onto them and other assorted doo-dads. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
LocoJoe
NW-sickboy 05-12-2004, 09:39 PM I am interested to see as well what others are doing as there are alot of options out now where some sort of inner fender is needed.
Medusa 05-13-2004, 08:00 AM I made inner skirts out of expanded metal.

This pic is not the best to show these, but I am working away from my computer with the better images. I have the Vortec computer and fuse/relay center, PS cooler and other doodads mounted on mine. Good for cooling--- not good for mud running :D
Jason M 05-13-2004, 08:16 AM I took my old fenders and cut off anything that stuck out ;)
Jack's look nicer, mine keep more garbage out..

tamujin 05-13-2004, 02:36 PM Medusa,
What did you use for your upper shock mounts. Are those Ford shock towers? If so do you think that my sway away 14" (2" threaded body, w/ res) will mount the same way?
Thanks,
Joe
40Rock 05-14-2004, 05:50 AM Thats nice can you give some info on whats in it,motor trans t-case all the good stuff.More pics would be nice, but it looks great thanks.
Medusa 05-14-2004, 08:59 AM What did you use for your upper shock mounts
Yes, I am using the Ford towers. I don't see any problems with making the sway away shocks fit. I am going to grind some material off the top inside of the tower so I can mount the Bilsteins with the reservoir fitting pointing inward, so the tires don't hit the hose when fully stuffed.
40Rock 05-14-2004, 11:09 AM Jake found you web site thanks gives me some good ideas.
tamujin 05-14-2004, 11:10 AM I did a search and could not find any particulars on what year and or model F 150 to snatch these towers from. I would imagine that you went to the bone yard for them. What do you suggest or could you direct me to a link with this information.
Thanks
Joe
