I know it is a common problem for the Dana 300 with twin sticks to pop out of gear going downhill. Well in an effort to fix this I pulled the F#@&ing t-case out and changed the detent balls and added some small washers under the springs to increase the spring pressure and after all that I did a test run down my driveway and POP it came out of gear. My twin stick bolts are REAL tight almost to the point where it is hard to shift. Is the only real cure an ATLAS? :D "I Wish" or using something to physically hold the lever forward such as a cable or rope?

I would like some options cause the wife won't wheel with me anymore if she has to hold the shift lever in gear... Hmmmmm.... kind of makes me wonder if I should fix it :D

Thanks

I would think that finding a supa stout spring of about the same size at the hardware store would help.

I remember the ones in my flip kit where suprisingly stiff and I think it may have evev had double springs but I honestly forget.

First, make sure your cover boot isn't pushing on the shifter.
Otherwise, poping out of gear usually indicates too loose of shaft endplay, I have been told.
When the shafts are too loose, the clutch gears tend to 'walk' or 'wobble' out out of engagement.
Some have had success to this problem by taking some of the shim out of the front output butt plate... down to near zero.
Try that before breaking down the rear output to do the same to it, bring it into tighter spec.
I've two seperate Tera gear rebuilds and never had that problem, happily...
