Jason, I am assuming for the Ford 9". Yes we are. We already have a basic design completed and the broaching tools necessary to manufacture the units. All we need is for engineering to get the final work done, and then release to manufacturing. We also have Ford 8.8" at that same time, but today we do not have a firm schedule on release of the three Ford Aussie Lockers.

In a phone conversation almost a year ago (with Bill Cole. Is that you?) I was assured that the Dana 60 unit would be available by fall 2004. Nothing was said about development. I was told they were about finished and ready for production. As a matter of fact, I seem to recall being told that a few had already been produced. Now the story is end of 2005, they're still in development, and your website has disappeared. How about the Dana 44? Are they in stock? And how do we go about contacting you to order one? I am rapidly losing interest. As are a whole bunch of others in my circle of enthusiasts.

Dana 60 and other models are in new product development. When we introduced the Aussie Locker the demand outstripped our ability to produce, so we had to move our engineers from new products to installing new equipment and then doing the specialized parametric manufacturing processes unique to the Aussie Locker. All of these actions put our schedule far behind from our original plans. We have had two Dana 60 diffs in vehicles for some time with good results and as soon as we get the models in from of the Dana 60 through the final development stage and manufacturing set up we will get the Dana 60 on line. We hate to lose orders as much as anyone so we are not delaying any product that has a market. Nor will we rush something to market that is not ready. We do apologize for those who are waiting for our new products to come out, and want to assure you that we are doing all we can to catch up and get the new products in inventory.

Unlike our competition we want you to have a full warranty and run the tires you need. Never had an Aussie Locker break anyway. That is why the Aussie Locker is "Trail Ready and Trail Rugged" for reliability. Who wants to work on a diff on the trail anyway.

If your cross shaft is soft (cut it with the edge of a file) or worn it should be replaced. An OEM cross shaft is fine for the Aussie Locker since its design does not require a "hardened" cross shaft for proper and long lasting operation.

I spoke with engineering today and the say that the tests in the two vehicles are going well, but they want more miles on them before releasing for production. The Dana 60 is the largest locker we will be making, so they are pretty cautious on top of their normally very conservative engineering processes. Sorry we dont have a good date for release yet, as we are pressing them very hard.

If you are talking about the front LC diff from 1990 to 1997 then yes, the XD20830 Aussie will fit fine. Prior to 1990 to 1969 the front and rear LC diff takes the XD21230. Both lockers are in stock. Thank you for your interest in the Aussie Locker.

We will check that out. Should be the front diff from 1968 to 1990. The 14 bolt is in development but we do not have a firm schedule yet, except to note that it is in this half of 2005.

We expect to see a release in about 60 days to manufacturing on the Dana 60. Probably 30 more days in manufacturing setup and processing for first shipments to the USA. That assumes no steel availability issues, which are becoming a factor these days. The Sterling is not yet in the schedule, but it is an approved development program.
