Just wondering? If not which diesel engines are they putting in them. I've searched and basically gotten that the weak ones are around 70hp, and my 240d engine is 67 stock. Also, anyone found a way to get any easy hp/torque out of these things, I swear it's dangerously slow.

Diesel 406/416s had the OM352, some of them with a turbo available which I believe bumped the HP to around 125? 5.9L inline 6.

I believe the engine model in the 240D is an OM616. That engine was found in the 421 model Mog, as well as a few other 4 cylinder versions. The OM352, and other variants, found in the 406/416s is definitely not the same beast. Its displacement is 5.7L and its max output was 125 hp. Most were tuned from 60 to 110 hp. The OM352A (turbo version) was only used in Mercedes trucks and had various outputs.

123 HP
184 ft-lb torque

These are very close to (more hp, a few lbs less torque) than the 258 straight six used in jeeps and I am contemplating a swap into the a 80's jeep grand wagoneer
