Allright, here goes.
I just bought a Jeep to replace my nice 77 Ford. It has a Chevy Vortec 350, T150 3 speed, Dana 20. I like both the Dana 20 and the 350, but the T150.... :barf: :barf: :barf: ..... So I want to swap in a 4 speed granny low tranny between the Dana 20 (jeep version) and the 350 Chevy. Will the NP435 fit here? If so, which version, modifications needed, how much longer is it? Thanks in advance.
Yes, but it would be easier to go with a chevy tranny.. like an SM465 of SM420

I have the 350/465/D20 in my Toy. You just need to make sure that the D20 is a 10 spline version and then find a 10 spline 465 with the correct bolt pattern on the adapter. If for some reason you can't find one check out Novak's website on the 465 and conversions: Novak (http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/sm465.htm) .

Does anyone know what model number or from what vehicle SM420, SM465 will bolt up to a Dana 20 from a 78 Jeep?

No chevy tranny will bolt up to a jeep tcase, for that matter neither will the np435. You'll have to adapt it no matter what you do. 465's came from 68 up four speed trucks. 420's from 47 to 67 4 speed trucks.

Actually I'm not sure about that. Some jeep D20s came with 10 spline inputs, which would match the 465. My tranny/T-case setup was stock in 69-71 blazers, so chevy did put a D20 behind a 465 from the factory, I think the chances of Big4x4 finding a factory adapter are pretty slim though.
