I bought a complete Chevy 350 TBI that is in need of a rebuild. The engine was already pulled when I bought it and didn't have a tag to specify the year. Is there a site or way of telling what year and model the engine came out of by the seriel numbers??? I know it came out of a van because of the dipstick's length.

On the back of the block where the bellhousing bolts on, you'll see a serial number there, might have to scrape the grease off, but it should be there on the drivers side. Then just call Gm and ask them to check the number!
