I have an 89' Isuzu pckup 4x4. The engine is gone. I want to put a different engine in it and have found a rolled rodeo with a v6. They are both standard transmissions. Will the transfer case from my 4 cyl pickup bolt to the v6 standard transmission? Or should I try and get everything from the rodeo. Or should I look for something else? Any info would be appreciated.

NO. The 4cyl does not have the same bellhousing pattern as the v6. So If you aredoing the swap, get everything you can from the Rodeo.
If its the GM 2.8 V6, I personally wouldn't bother, I would find a 2.6L Isuzu 4cyl to drop in instead. There are really no performance gain with the 2.8 over the 2.6. More work than its worth in my opinion. A 3.2L Isuzu V6 would maybe be worth the effort.

Thank you. I do not know which engine is in the rodeo. I just know it has everything and all I have in my poickup is the 4 cyl transmission and transfer case. I guess I could try and find a chevy small block whit the transmission and transfer case.

The earlier rodeos came with a 3.1 chevy motor, which is a variant of the 2.8 family. Its slightly better than a 2.8, but still not much better than a 2.6. the rodeo never came with a 2.8. If its a 3.2 i'd grab it and everything behind it. If I knew then what I know now about mixing and matching parts, i'd have put a 3.2 in instead of the 4.3.
