Does anyone know what the measurement form the ball joint to the WMS of a 1/2 ton dana 44 is (with the ford rotor setup). i am getting ready to narrow my Chevy 44 for my CJ-7. when i got the axle (for free) it was in a huge pile of dana 44's. so i don’t know the exact year but it is old. it has flat top knuckles with the 1/2 spindles with the smaller inner race, yes there is a diff in spindles on Chevy 44's one has a larger inner race (3/4 ton) ...if you did not know. (1/2 ton is for use with the ford hubs, rotors, Chevy bearings and seals setup) i am told that it is 8" but not 100% on this.

How accurate of an answer do you want? My Chevy 44 was 69" wide (8 lug) so take that number and subtract your BJ-BJ distance and divide it by 2. There you go for an 8 lug. I think 6 lug Chevy is only 1" difference per side (67" wms).

I am guessing that my BJ to wms on an 8 lug was somwhere around 8"
