i'm running the SJ T/C drop right now(it needs to GO!), but i have a JB SYE ready to go on, but before i get a shaft made i want to do a belly up, i've got adjustable lowers and uppers allround, what else do you think i'll need, i know i'll need to raise my MM about 1.5".
anyone see any issues? probs? will the angle of the pinion be too high?
i don't have quite 4" out of the lift since it sagged with all the amour.

TIA!

The other thing you might want to do is "Clock" your T-case either by redrilling the mounting holes or get one of those re-indexing rings, I can't remember the addy but heres a reviewhttp://www.bc4x4.com/pv/yj/go2twister/go2twister.cfm.

i don't really understand what you are getting at?
would i do that just to get the stress of the tranny mount?
or is it for another reason?
i've got the 231, would clearance be an issue with a belly up?

i've got a 1" BL at the mo,
does anyone see a prob with me installing the SYE and loosing the T/C drop.
then measure the shaft length with the stock skid, and then add 1/2" to the shaft length before i give the measurement to the shop...in anticipation of the belly up skid?
going from this: 3" lift, 1" longer shaft.
1.5" lift, 1/2" longer shaft,
and i doubt that i'll be gaining more then 1.5" out of the belly up.

the reason is that i need time to fab up the skid, but the SYE and shaft need to go on...
feedback?

I don't think it's necessary on a Warngler 'cause your tranny is still in the way.

Clearance may be an issue with a totally flat skidplate/crossmember with a one inch body lift unless you clock the T-case. Heres some pics of a good setup that I'm going to go with once I get a 9 inch hipin third member.http://www.kilbyenterprises.com/misc/crossmember/

i doubt it's gonna be totally flat, probably similar to tera skid.

I run a totally flat skid dropped 1/2" from the frame. I clear it with a 2" BL and a low profile tranny mount fabbed out of some tough ass polyurethane. If you fab a low profile tranny mount you can subtract the difference from the amount you originally wanted to raise you MM. The tranny mount I had was like 2.5" tall urethane and I reduced it to a sandwiched piece of 1" urethane.

No problems yet and I've been running it for about 4 months with three trips of hard wheeling.

I don't think you'll have a problem with you pinion angle, I carry about a 20-22 degree angle on my CV with this flat skid and some 4-5" springs on an 8.8 rear axle.

No problems clearing the 231 with a totally flat skid w/ a 2" BL. You can always drop it however much to clear though.

I think adding .5" to your measurement should work. Just get it shortened if it is too long, it's only ~$30 at a driveline shop.

bigdude, what did you have to do to your T/C linkage?

i just spoke to the shop today, and the guy told me that they can only make me a shaft with a total travel of 3" ...thats 1.5" travel each way...
i know that Jess and woddy have about 5"-7" of total travel, is this gonna be a prob? is 3" way too little?

Sharp,

I have RE 6" coils, Tera long arm kit, TERA BellyUp kit,
and a REV Rot DANA 44 rear. I also have only a 1 Inch body lift.

I have a Short shaft kit. and only 3 inches of rear drive shaft travel and never had a problem with my rear shaft..

Now dont forget I have a high pinion. and you dont.

But you dont have as much lift either. And your belly pan wont be as high... I assume.

Suggestion, Dont get your drivesaft(S) made yet. You will have to lenghten the front shaft too. (I had to do this 4 times so far.)

Its gettin old... Every time I change lift... new length on the shafts.
Make sure when you order your shafts you have the exact length for the driveshaft shop.. Inorder to do this correctly you must have everything else done. Remember you dont have much room to play here only about 3 inches of travel and you want it directly centered. So wait on the shafts..

AS for the t case linkage... You will have to change that somehow. When you lift the t case (with your bellylift) you will have to modify the linkage.
I was lucky and tera's kit worked for me. But Badassjeepguy has had problems with his tera kit.... It keeps poping off. even though they are the same.. my lift is more than his. and the angles are different.

Check out my home page, I think i have some pics of the belly.

www.advanceadapters.com has a TJ tc shifter linkage that mounts to the case itself. I think you will have to call them.

I wish I could help you Sharp but my flat skid is on a YJ. With a YJ don't need to mess with the t-case shifter because it is just attached to the trans, not the body. I guess there is something better about square headlights in this case.:p

Also I run revolvers on 4 " springs with 3" of slip in my rear driveshaft. I can fully droop the rear axle and compress it without a problem.
