Looking at TRE's for the high-steer.... I've decided I like my buddies setup so I'm going to use what he used:
ES2234R
ES2233L
ES2027L
ES2010R

I was pricing them at the local O'Reilley's and came up with about $160 +/- for Moog's. The parts guy said that he also has another brand called AutoDrive that sells for about $10 to $15 less per TRE (except they don't have the ES2010R). Supposedly, this brand is also made in the USA and has a lifetime warranty.

Anybody ever heard of this "AutoDrive" brand? Who makes them? Are they worth a shit? Thanks.....

Why use the 2010R and not another 2234R? Same joint, but a longer theraded shank (3.38" vs. 4.81"). It is probably cheaper too.

I thought autodrive was a Dana company or something like that.

Honestly, you are not gonna find much difference between the two. Pull two of them out of the box and look at them.

Remember too, parts guys work off of commision and O'reilly's does a lot of things with their employee's where if you sell $X of Moog stuff you get a Jacket or something. I'm running the autodrive stuff on my blazer and have for quite some time. I've never had an issue with them.

Give me a couple of hours and I'll head to the parts house and get the exact difference between the two. I go in there enough that they let me look up my own stuff on the computer. I'll see what I can find.

Alrighty, here's the scoop, autodrive and MOOG and in effect the same damn thing. Made by the same company. The MOOG reps will tell you that their shit is teflon lined, but without taking the bastard apart you can't see it. They actually had a Ford TRE in there that when you pulled it out of the box and looked inside the box, it was a MOOG box on the inside. reversable box :D

All the ones that I looked at had the same stampings on the parts. Dead on the same.

I'd go with the Autodrive if it's available.

Auto Drive/TRW/Maquay-Norris/Moog all are about the same just do some 'shopping" for best prices. I got all 4 for my steering I made for about $110.00. Good luck

Well, the original post asked for opinions, so here's mine.

Moog, TRW, and Auto Drive may be comparable (I don't have any experience with auto Drive) But no way in hell is any Maquay-Norris TRe or balljoint or anything else the same quality as Moog. Nope, nuh-uh.

Compare a few, change a few, you'll see.

You rule, I suck. I can't even convince NAPA to give me a discount. They just look at me and say "Get out of our store, Hosebag!"

Hahaha, you need to go to a small auto parts store, not a big chain. The small stores will usually let you look in their spec books and if you talk to them enough, they usually give you a discount.

I don't even want to talk about my discount, actulaly, I can't. I do alot of sales when I'm in there too. I've kinda got a shop account, even though I don't do enough volume. I always like it when they get a new guy in that doesn't know me. Asks me if I need help as I'm walking into the back to start looking for stuff. I damn near live at the parts house. Used it more than once to go get a part in the middle of the night. Just call the manager (if he's not already at the house helping me work on stuff) and head up there. :D:D
