DSC, Thanks! Got too excited to thank you earlier.

Anyhow, I just got given 2 FJ55's so I doubt I will pick it up, but if it is pretty original and not too bad regarding rust, I might have to pull the trigger for a long term project...my bet is it's gone by the time I get a chance to see it. There are quite a few locals out here who are after the elusive FJ45lv.

Both of those ads have been running awhile, if you find out one sold please post it so we know. If they have not sold, the price should be RIGHT by now.

That being said, I believe the majority of car shoppers would skip right past a 45 unless they had some Cruiser knowledge or were looking for a unique vehicle.

here's another...lwb that is

Great original Truck! 1965 Toyota Landcruiser FJ45 Long Wheel Base pickup truck. It has a removable hardtop and doors that make it fun for summer driving. The original 6cylinder F engine still runs smooth. The transmission is a manual three on the tree with good linkage. The only repairs I’ve done to it is rebuilding the gas tank, carburetor and replacing the water pump. There is some light rust in the bed and on the cap but the body is in great condition for a forty-year-old vehicle. The cab interior is clean and the original leather bench seats shine like new. It needs a little electrical and brake work but this truck would be an easy restoration. It has been in storage for the last six years and is ready for a new home.

Are these still available?

I am certain a fabricator friend of mine could make one for less than $300, $650 just blew me away.

I think Vic Hadley makes a pretty decent repro for about 1/2 that...

I called up the first guy and his answering machine said that the vehicle appearing in
truck trader had been sold... I asked him to call me back to confirm if it was the cruiser
or not.

thats what I have on my 45, the OEM one is prolly a bit better and is slightly different in the details but to the untrained eye.........they are the same, I dont regrete not spending $500+ on an OEM one. They are just for looks and to carry lumber its not like they are structual.

FWIW, some(earlier?) of the OEM ones have ears(to keep the stuff from sliding off) on the top, the latter? ones don't.

BTW, I am not sure if its Vic Hadley, its Hadley Industies, I think Vic's last name is different, Hadley was maybe his(Vic) father and law or something like that.......

I called the guy today, got the same machine that said it was sold and no call back. I bet $10 that the ebay guy surfdivecruiserhead bought it and will ebay it in a few weeks. He scoops up pretty much everything immediately around here.

I got an e-mail back from the yellow 45 LWB, and he's still got it. I found his page of 30some odd pictures, and it looks good. I'm sending my brother to check it out, and if all is kosher I will be joining the 45 registry :D

if anybody comes up with the new owner's name or becomes the new owner, you know what to do. rick might have had these wagons in the registry already, but either way, i want the info. :)
