I'm looking for a fuel cell that will allow me enough room to move the rear axle of my TJ back around 5-6" and not have to cut the floor board. I realize it would be fairly small, maybe 12 gallons. The only installs I've seen the person had to cut the floor board.
Could I use a marine tank and still have the stock gauge work.

you can find several different sizes in summit or W/jegs or have a local welder make one to your specifications, and install it wherever you pretty much want.

All you need is a fuel cell without a sump (bump in the back of the cell that requires a hole to be cut in the floor). I'm running a 16 Gallon RCI in my s-10 (I know it's a truck, but it's close to the same width as a Jeep) and the cell sits right over the axle between the tubs for the rear wheels with quite a bit of room on each side to spare.

Yeah, but chances are you're still gonna have to drill holes in the floor to run the lines to the motor, correct?

small holes with grommets don't count.

Make sure you have a plan for the fuel pump before you start. If you use an external pump, you'll need a return line and the TJ fuel rail does not have a return line.

Would this unit accept the stock fuel pump?
