ok, so my dad is pickin up an 82 3/4 ton chevy tomorrow and he wants my BFGs on my truck to swap to his.. they are 33's, but he said he would buy me brand new tires, in return for mine! so i'm thinking, i will step up to 35's, and am wondering what would u guys recommend.. i wheel it on the weekends, and drive it daily, so... plus if i get these tires, i will be adding my 12 bolt welded rear end soon after tires..
was thinkin maybe MTRs, BFG M/T, or of course i wouldnt mind having some Krawlers.... so i got about a grand to spend.. any ideas?

oh, if u didnt know, my truck is an 82 blazer, chopped fenders... so the 35's will fit just fine! :)

MT/Rs or BFG MTs. Great tires for anything that sees a fair amount of street miles.

so i was just looking around.... i found that at Discount... the BFG MT's are $171.00 each, and for 4 of them would $684.00 ......
$166.99 is the price at 4wheel parts... hmmmm damn, a whopping $4.01 difference... i've been xtrmly impressed with discounts warranties, i've recieved 4 new tires for free already from them... (due to sidewall damage ;) ) sooooo .... thats a tuff one

I'd go to Discount Tire and get their warranty along with the tires.

just FYI, 4WP has a similar warranty.

I know that, but according to his sig he lives in Tucson where there are Discount Tire stores. As far as I know there aren't any 4WP stores near there so it makes it harder to get the tires replaced under warranty.

the only 4WP i know is in Mesa, i dont feel like going to mesa everytime i get a flat... so i think i decided on the BFG MT's... my old man got his truck today, pretty nice, 81 3/4 ton.. 92K original miles! 4x4 of course... so he wants my tires and i want new ones :D .. i'll let u know

For a heavy truck, why not look into the Pro Comp X-Terrain...it'll get a ton of miles and has a load rating associated with your rig...

those aren't too bad.. but:
35x12.50R15 Load Range "C"
PCT35035 $194.99

its a nice looking tire, but how does it do off-road, it says it does well for mud and some rocks.. well i live in tucson, so it hardly ever gets muddy, and i have a big ol' diesel that is hella slow in the mud! i am leaning towards the BFG MTs or Mtrs.... a buddy of mine sent me a reciept for some tire shop in CA for the MTR's at $140 each, so im gonna see if Walmart will price match!

I've had good luck with my bfg MT's so far, decent traction, and still wear good with a spool in the back. Also very, very nice on the street.

from what i hear, xterrains aren't much good in mud, but seem to be great in dirt and rocks

see thats what im thinkin, cuz once i get the tires, i finally get to put my 12 bolt on.. (hey its better than a 10 bolt, and its welded :flipoff2: ) so i need something that will do ok with being welded...
