this is my first pirate thread. Be nice.

Well, here I'm trying to get the whole side off the ground because I cut a tire and was replacing it but wanted to rotate them from front to back. Damn highlift isn't tall enough.

my interior was soaked and nasty so I pulled all the carpet and cleaned it.

here's what it looked like after it was cleaned and painted. I was pretty happy.

Now, I keep busting taillights. Here's what both sides look like.

A little rigging, and we now have tails that won't explode every ride

We had to test some stuff, so here's some wheeling pics. This is my buddy patrick in what we like to call the rubix cube(sp?) because it changes every time you drive it.

as far as the wrenching goes, I was fairly successfull. Except I've caught the damn death wobble agian. I can fix it. I've tried everything. So I'm giving up and taking it to the shop in the morning.

What's your castor at?(pinion angle) Get a degree finder and put it on top of your knukle. You should be at 3or4* max towards the rear. :grinpimp:

it's in a place called the west bowl on beech mountain NC. It's only a small area, that's pretty much the only thing up there if you're built at all.

It's prolly off. I would check it now, but I just dropped it off with THE alighnment(sp?) guy. I dunno we'll see if he's any good. I would blame the castor for the DW, but it just developed it last week, and the castor hasn't been touched. I do know it's all farked up though. I flatened my LCA brackets axle side a while back, so they're rigged and braced back to where I doubt the castor can be adjusted on that. As far as the arms go, I can't recall if the upper arm can be adjusted in. I should check that.

any suggestions on centering the body to get the track bar right? I've tried and tried and tried, and can't get it perfect.

Next time, chain the fron axle to the frame (haha) so that the tire lifts off the ground. BUT, it is never a good idea to work under a vehicle with only a hilift jack holding it. I was also going to ask if thats a protofab bumper you've got up front and if you like it? I'm planning on building a similar one for a friend soon but didn't know how much I liked the wraparound part...anyway, nice pics. And I hope you bust out those fugly new taillights soon too :flipoff2:

lol, yeah I strapped it off. That was more for photo sake. All I was doing then was rotating the tires anyway. yes it is a protofab. I like it. but yeah the wrap around is WAAAYYY too far. I'm going to cut a chunk outta the side and weld the end back on, just one of those things on that huge list. And I'm sure I'll find a way to explode those lights too. At least they're only $10 instead of friggin' $100.

Get a tape and measure from the frame to the axle. Example: Near the coil mnt. to the top of the ball joint. Doesn't really matter where, just make sure you measure from the same spot on both sides.
