: Revolvers on lifted rigs aren't possible?
larcwing 01-16-2002, 03:34 PM I went to Central expecting to buy a set of revolvers for my Jeep. The salesman told me that I couldn't put the on a lifted Vehicle due to the alighnment of the way they sat when in use (on the road, not wheelin) was all wrong and would damage them. I'm confused on this now.....Why would they put a product out on the market that allows more flex for a stock vehicle only? Is this true Please let me know of anything you have heard regarding this issue.:p
RoCkSkuLLz 01-16-2002, 03:44 PM Well you can go back and tell that guy he's a fawkin moron!! They'll work on lifted or stock height jeeps, doesnt matter. Shit the guy that ivented them (Curt from metal made rite) has them on his lifted YJ. I have them on my 2.5" spring ontop of SOA setup and they work great. Go back and get them.
Rich T 01-16-2002, 09:37 PM The only springs I have found they won't work with are rubicon express springs, the eyes are under the springs instead off on top.

Funny I have them on my RE 6 inch springs.

KAcrawler 01-16-2002, 10:53 PM i bet richt is talking about the RE springs designed for a spring over that have the equivalent of a 3" lift but flip flop the eyes to the bottom to net a 1" lift. and yes i can see how they wouldn't fit. just my 2 cents
DE Jeeper 01-17-2002, 06:40 AM That guy is an idiot. If you measure the bolt hole to bolt hole distance on a Revolver you will find that is is the same as a stock shackle. Therefor there is no lift and angle change on the diff. or alignment changes. I wouldn't buy anything from the shop again.
Steven_Mc 01-17-2002, 07:39 AM They'll work on any lifted vehicle front or rear, only problem is if you are SOA with a shackle reversal, and you use them on the front, under full droop they will try and point your pinion into the dirt which puts tons of strain on the driveshaft, and will eventually break it or pull the splines apart.
Mudpuppy 01-17-2002, 09:05 AM I have them on the front and rear of my yj and I have the re extreme duty 4.5" lift. I think the guy was wrong
NothernAZxj 01-17-2002, 09:44 AM HOLY SH*T...I guess Id better take em off the rear of my 7" lifted XJ then......I dont wanna wreck or anything!.......what a FAWKIN MORON......remind me to never go to that 4x shop!
larcwing 01-17-2002, 11:34 PM Thank guys......I thought the guy was smokin crack...I mean why put a product on the market for extreme machines when the are to be used on stock only? I didn't get it. He was saying that because of different length springs the revelver wouldn't sit all the way closed when driving on the road and that they would slap together with all the bumps and eventually twist them up and mangle them, this worries me because my Jeep doubles as my daily driver and i have to comute about 20 miles everyday to work. Anyhoo Thanks for all the info, any more would be greatly appreciated. :D
H8monday 01-18-2002, 10:04 AM Ive got a set you can borrow, to try them out, if you want.
Im just down the 80 from you, in Roseville.
I keep my old set on hand so that curious freinds, can put them on and test run em through the Hammers, or where ever we might be running. I tell freinds that they can even have em, if they are actrually gonna run em. But like a bad case of Herpes, they always return.
But they are just sitting in my junk box, if you wanna try em and see how they handle on your rig.
gimme a call, my cell # 916-257-9299
badassjeepguy 01-18-2002, 10:51 AM H8, ba hahahahaha like a bad case of herpes.....lol

I like the analogy H8!! :D
larcwing 01-19-2002, 01:21 PM Thanks H8. But after serious consideration after hearing what everyone has to say about the performance of revolvers on and off road I think I am gonna skip the and by a new rear end and and lock it up. So thank you eveyone for all your help. Thanks!:D
