Stuck float perhaps?, or a bad fuel pump....even though it pumps fuel, it could be that it wont build preasure.....check it out agin, and look for fuel in the oil.

only other thing is severally clogged jets.

Seein' as how, in order for fuel to flow out of the carb and into the combustion chamber there's gotta be a lower pressure in the cylinder than there is at the atmosphere surrounding the carb. intake, perhaps we have a bad surface to surface seal somewhere below the throttle plate.

I can look in the carb & hit the thraghtal no gas spray . The fuel pump is putting out plenty of preshor checked the fuzes ok onpluged all the wire conectors under the hood ? I was thinking maybe a fuel selinoid? the 1 selinoid on the frt of carb tords the radiator what does it do ? thanks for any help!!!

Can you get it running by dumping a little fuel in the carb manually? If so how does it run? Will it keep running?

if you deffinately have gas going to the carb, and you look down the carb and hit the throttle if no squirt then its most prolly has a problem with accelerator pump. seems like you should still be able to get the thing to run. accelorator pump is used to help carb brake idol. maybe you got some contaminated gas and its clogging the gas inlet. good luck!!!

I can spray some ether in the carb & it will run for a second and die.So nobody thinks it would be a fuel switch or somthing to do with the wires going to the carb?the last time it was on the trail It was running good & it started losing power ,missing, the next morning no start? I guess its time to take the top off the carb.

Im having similar problem right now, tried dumping gas manually, not starting, all 4 spark plugs' new, new distributor cap, rotor, cords itself and COIL. Still NOTHING. oh yeah, new fuel pump. I smell the fuel. But.... it turns over strong, but not STARTING.
Accelerator PUmp? Hmm

jdsamurai,
yours does not sound like a fuel problem to me. I would check for spark and correct routing of those new wires and coil.
