I would like to run a 205 transfer case on my 77 scout with my stock wide ratio 4 speed, is this possible, what parts are needed to hook em together if it can be done. Was this tranny/transfer case ever a stock combo in any veichle?
Thanks for any help!

You could use a 2wd T-19, to a divorce mounted IH truck 205, with a short drive line between the two.

Adavance Adapter #50-6501 (T-19 to Jeep 300)* would let you run a Dodge (mated) 205, Jeep Dana 300, Atlas, Jeep 231, Dodge 208, 241 and more.

I did it!!! If you search the archives for about a year ago you should find something. After I exploded my 205 I started looking into this and this is what I did.

Removed the Scout T19 output/main shaft from the case
Installed a Ford T19 output/main shaft into the case
Made the adapter to go from a Scout T19 to a ford 205
Bought a ford 205, turned it upside down and bolted it up

That is it in a nutshell!! It works great, super strong, and unlimited choices on yokes for drive shafts. I did shorten and respline the ford mainshaft to keep the adapter from being so long.

Todd

PS I might be interested in selling it later this year if I keep my current project on track.

The idea of using the ford output shaft and resplining it sounds good to me. I've been thinking of a way to mate a T 19 to a 23 spline Jeep input. The jeep adapter is boneyard parts but the 23 spline has been the problem. Thanks for the great idea. If you have more info to add I would appreciate it.:D

You still got the case, and other parts? Would not mind a Tera 4.1 kit in a Scout 300. Let me know.

Adavance Adapters makes a Ford T19 to Jeep Dana 300 adapter. Maybe you could use the shaft from that kit.

Hmn, that's a possibility. Isnt the Ford T 19 extra long in the rear? I'm guessing the kit uses a coupler wich means I would have to first convert to Ford T 19 output shaft and adapter. Then again it's just a guess.
Certainly worth checking into.
Thanks for the idea Ben.:D

Advance and Novak both replace the main shaft; no spud shaft.

The Ford 2wd t-19 has a 28 spline rear shaft that sticks out about 2" and the 4wd t-19 has a 31 spline rear shaft that sticks out about 8".
