seeing that my 89 cherokee is at this time bone stock, Here is my list of do's before TDS
1. swap in rear d-44
2. gear change to 456's
3. 5.5" lift
4. rocker slides
5. front and rear bumpers
6. 33" tires and new rims
7. possible winch

or if that can't be done in time, just load the 53' MB-38a on the trailer and tow it down instead.

On the YJ...
-Repair, and reinstall rear axle
-Replace 2 of the 4 leaf springs with "fresh" packs
-Fix misc little problems

On the CJ...
-Repair output seal on the Spicer 18
-change gear oil
-change u-joints

Unpack 1 of everything :(

YellowSub1962

things I need t do:

finish "plasti-gauging" the motor, adjust the valves, replace the cam plug, put it back in again and hope it don't knock this tme.... drive it at least 500 miles before I head out...

fix the rear bumper/tire carrier so it opens and closes without a crowbar

mount 2 tires on rims

replace leaf packs on the trailer

how it will actually happen:

put motor back in the way it is and break it in on the way down there. drive the trailer down with a broken leaf pack and change it there. keep using a crowbar to open the rear tire carrier...

buy beer and go :D

Realistically? Swap in new front diff, mount 2 new tires, swap shocks, fix t-case crossmember (so the case doesn't rattle against the underbody under heavy load, like it does now), mount rear rocklights, load rig and GO.

Hopefully? Rear roll cage, bed bob.

I pick up the D44 rear on Sunday, Hoping to have it in and SOA on Feb 2nd.. then that leaves just the rig getting a desert tan color.. and Im there! Now I still need to work on teh GF's parents to convince them to let her come!
