don't even mention search. I've read all the tips on how to remove the birf star from the inner , but no where does anyone explain how they reinstall new birf and how to tell if inner circlip is seated correctly? I have old school drum birf's so I need to know all there is to know. I have changed newer ones that don't run inner circlips due to the carrier holds axles out poroperly as woody eluded to. And ones that were so busted that it just fell apart , but I am thinking what if it isn't blown apart , how am I gonna blow that circlip off on the trail and how do you know when its seated upon reinstall ?

1. You are not gonna blow the clip off on the trail, it's purpose is just to keep the axle onto the birf.
2. The only reason to install one is if you blow a birf and need to intall a new one on an axle.
3 To install it, you put it on the axle, insert axle into the birf up to the clip, then with 4 hands hold pressure on the axle and press the clip into the groove in the axle, once it is all the way in the groove in slips together.
4. To check if it is on correctly? Try to slip the axle out of the birf.
This is one of the reasons I carry my spare BF's with the axle on them, the other being it often fawks the splines on the axle and makes it hard to insert into a new one.....Ask Tard Dearborn, works very well to have one assembled ready to go....right?
