With Quality Farm and Fleet going out of business, I've been making "regular" stops in, waiting for the magical 50% off time. :D
Anyway, with prices so cheap, I'm buying alot of stuff that I don't need "right now", but might need in the future. I was looking at the hydraulic rams that they have. They had a 2" diameter, 8" stroke "Eaton" Ram there for 60 bucks, with 50% off. Is that what I'm looking for when I eventually do hydro assist?
Anything else I should look for?
TIA
Out!

I just got a 2x6" ram from agri supply for $51.00 Not on sale. Doesn't sound like a really good deal to me...

IS a 6" or even a 8" going to be enough travel for full lock to lock?
I needed a 10" travel steering damper for my rig and I think a Hydro cylinder would be close to the same spec.

8" is too much travel for my application (full width f-150 axle) I've got to sleeve my 8" ram down to 7". I run full hydro though, a ram of this size may be a little on the overkill side for assist. Instead of a 2x8 or whatever, I would think you would want a 1x8 or whatever. Look at the size of the body of the ram and tell me if you want to fit that thing in there with all the rest of your steering junk. I would say space constraints would be a limting factor to think about. Just some thoughts.

Sorry man, my punctuation sucks.
It's normally 60 bucks, but it's now 50% off. So, it's 30 bucks? Good deal or no?

yes, good deal even if you won't be using it for a while. do you know if all the farm & fleets are going out of biz, I've got one about 45 mins away, might be worth going up to grab some parts. I'm gonna need another ram when I get my rear axle done.

Yea, I heard that they went out of business. Tractor Supply is "supposedly" buying some of them, but I don't know how many.

The QFF up here is going out up here as well. Talked to the people at TSC and they bought them out.
Has anyone looked at the hydro cylinders forklifts use for the side shift forks? I always thought those would work well for hydro steering.

Central Tractor also going under, must all be owned by the same parent company. Just got 2,2x8 for rear steering for myself and a friend. Think it was like $45 each with the fittings.
