Has anyone else installed a set of the WH diamond plate rear quarter panel protectors? Last night a friend and me decided to install them. I have bobbed fenders and wide Gorilla flares so the panels needed to be trimmed. After careful measurement we went to test fit and the panels do not fit the body tight. If you get the top to fit then the bottom sticks out. If you get the front to fit then the back sticks out. Since they are 1/8" diamond plate you can not easy beat them into submission. I gave up last night and will try again tonight.

Just wondering about other people's experiences with the installation on these panels.

I had the same experience with mine. They don't fit worth a damn:mad: Then when I called WH for help they said I would have to bend them for a form fit. That's just BS! You're not going to be able to form 1/8" diamondplate by hand. They also scratched the sh!t out of the paint when I tried to fit them:mad3:

Needless to say, I never got them mounted and they're sitting in my shed.

I hope someone has had better luck and can share how they delt with them.

I'll try to get a pic. My wife gave me a digi cam for Christmas so I'll give it a try. I don't think a roller will help because the main problem area is between the two main body lines. The WH panel is wider in that area than the body. If you get the top to fit, the bottom sticks out and visa-versa.

Well, I finally got out the hammer and beat them into submission. I understand with 1/8 diamond plate you will not get an exact fit on a Bronco that is 30 years old and used. I used a 2 lb hammer and a chunk of wood and beat the crap out of them until they fit somewhat right. I used sheet metal screws to fasten them to the quarter panel.

Jim tells me he will include hardware and instructions in the sets going out from now on!

Look for an article on the install at http://www.alloffroad.com

I got home tonight and found a message waiting for me from Jim @ WH (the owner). He wants to help me with the install of the panels. I must say, I'm impressed! I don't know how he got my name (maybe from Motoman aka Greg) but I'm very pleased that he cared enough to call. That's good customer service. I'll call him back in the morning and see what he has to say.

I'll report back here tomorrow with the outcome.

Well- I spoke with Jim this morning and he was very helpfull. They are now including a hardware kit and mounting instructions with the panels. Jim's sending me the hardware and faxing some pics and instructions today.

This, IMO, is great customer service!

Thanks Jim!
