im installing braklines on my new hp60.
basically, i just need to know what tools ill need to cut the hardlines on the axle and flare them, and anything i need to keep in mind or look for when cutting/flaring.
also, what is a double flare? vs a single flare?

You'll need a double flaring tool, a tubing cutter, and tubing bender. These should include instructions. If you have autozone nearby, you should be able to rent most of the tools for free. Double flare means that you flare the end of the tube and then fold it back over itself so there is a smooth surface to seal against.

ok....sounds easy enough...i have the tubing bender already, and a tubing cutter i can get ahold of easy....i bought this flaring tool from poop boys a while back, but im not sure its the righr thing....
it looks like a bar of steel split down the middle that clamps together around the tube, and then like a 2 jaw gear puller thing that screws a conical metal head into the tubing, thus flaring it....but it doesnt fold it back over i dont think....
thanks

Some of the bar & yoke style flare tools come with the double flare adapter buttons.

Frankly, I find this style of flare tool just about worthless. All I ever do is push the line right through the bar, with no flare at all.

The best flare tool I've found comes from J.C. Whitney of all places. It's a pliers style, and the double flare adapters are an option. It's more expensive, but well worth the money, IMNSHO.

I have the style that clamps into the double bar with the buttons that go on the inside of the tube..

Works fine, Of course I paid alittle more for it then what you would pay at pep boys or something.

One little trick if you are using the clamp style is to clamp the tube in then pass the torch over it then use the button first. I have not had any problems with the 3/16 line. However if you get into the larger "tranny lines." Then this is almost a must.
