I just rebuilt my autolite 2100 and I am having some problems.

1st, is there supposed to be something holding the float rod from moving. Right now it is just sitting in the two slots, but is is free to moving up and down. What I mean to say is that I don't think it is pivoting, instead it is just moving up with the fuel level.

It is flooding pretty bad and I am assuming this is the reason for it, but what do I do to fix it.

There should be a little jesus spring that goes over the pivot rod and clips to the brass needle seat. Several different flavors are included in most rebuild kits.
