: Cage pics?
Actnjacksn 01-17-2002, 04:45 PM OK, i was thinking about putting a full cage in after my SOA and i was out looking at my cruiser and was wondering how you guys got your cage in between the door and the rubber dash thingamabobber. I want to put in a cage that has a fold were the windshield folds, not a straight one. Just wondering if any of you had pics of your cage, especially near the door and dash?
Thanks in advance, Sean

WOLF359 01-21-2002, 08:51 PM sorry i don't have any pictures of it in the truck yet.
It's for my 72 FJ. The rear hoop is going to be part of the new rear body, which got chopped off.

ChadH82 01-23-2002, 07:50 AM Do you guys have your cages anchored to the frame or just the body? I'd like to some pics of how you mounted them to the frame if you did.

arndog 01-23-2002, 08:17 AM Is everyone apposed to exo-cages? I am going to go exo with mine as I don't want to have the same thing happen to me that happened to wngrong, nolen, kate (I think thats who it is). The same thing happened to my buddy and we are still not done replacing the whole body.
even if the exo cage looks worse what is the problem

I think the main issue with an Exo for me is the added weight of all that tube.
I am thinking about adding a cowl hoop and maybe some fender nerf bars like the rig attached, but as for a complete exo..I think I would rather source a new windshild frame like I had to do.

arndog 01-23-2002, 01:44 PM wngrng will there actually be that much more added weight. I guess I am thinking of having an exo cage instead of a in the cab cage. seems like it would only be a few more feet of tube here and there which I realize could add up but it doesn't seem like it would be enough to warrant replacing windshields. The problem we had with my friends is it tweaked the tub enough where we really couldn't use it anymore (seperated the cowl and tweaked the entire body.

That cruiser is Tony Palmer's from San Angelo. He had Big Dog Cust. Fab. add the fender bars after he rolled it and nocked the windshield off. I haven't been out to twin buttes in a while since I am rig less but need to go out there...miss seeing cruisers getting it
