untill i get a tranmission temperature guage about how hot should the tranny cooler feel?

it feels hot but hot enough to hold your hand on. im not sure if thats bad or not, my guess is it runs at about 140-150 degrees

get a guage. there's no point in even speculating on it with a feel by hand method.
