This may have already been posted, but in the very near future CA is going to require ammunition purchasers to fill out a form with your name, address, driver's license number, type of ammo, and THUMBPRINT. They are already doing this at Turner's Outdoors.

Sure, long guns aren't "registered" in CA, but what do you think will happen down the road when the records show you bought .308 ammo but only legally own a .22? Might there be a 3AM knock at your door after Feinstein finally outlaws high-power rifles?

I'll bet you won't be able to sell or lend ammo to anyone else either (not legally anyway), unless you submit the proper paperwork to the state (just like transferring a rifle).

Stock up.

I'm trying to figure out how, aside from suggesting a law, Feinstein has anything to do with California specific laws. Luckily, I legally own my rifles.

What about the supplies for reloading.... Same thing?????
AZ is good to live in you can carry as long as it is in the open or get a ccw and conceal that sucker.
I'm glad I don't live in CA, I would hate it. :mad3: :mad3: :flipoff2:

This sounds like a local thing to SoCal.. I just bought some amo and it was cash and carry.. So how about a reference cite to the law or code section that shows that they need the finger print and info?

Before everyone gets upset here we need the facts

Not exactly...if the rifle falls under the auspices of the state assault rifle registration requirement owners are required to, everything else follows the fed regulations. By the same token there was a bit of controversy over this given that the dealer sales didn't exactly match up with the total registered as of 2001. Seems some folks sorta took exception to the registration... :D

Take a look at this press release dated 5/26/04:

http://www.townhall.com/news/politics/200405/POL20040526a.shtml

It hasn't passed the assembly yet, so I don't know why the heck Turners is already doing it and why the logbook already seems to exist.

Big 5 has been doing it within the city of Los Angeles for over ten years now.

Ten years ago (the last time I bought ammo at Big 5) I asked the manager WTF was this deal and he told me it was some new L A law :mad3:

Remember, ANY gun registration is illegal (by Executive Order) and therefore you are not obligated to comply. Ammo isn't protected (unfortunately) but you can circumvent this new bullshit by purchasing out of state (like in pro-gun AZ).

Don't take this shit laying down. The People's Republic of Kalifornistan is headed down the road of socialist oppression. Fight now if you want to remain free people.

Which EO from whic Executive (state or federal)? I dont remember seeing an EO that prohibited gun registration. I have seen them that ban guns (such as daddy bushs import ban)

well it looks like this amo thing is a local thing to SoCal right now and SB1152 is trying to make it statewide. Its funny how these laws are designed to catch the criminal buying amo when he should not be... another example of the majority getting their rights f*ck'd over to catch a small group of criminals. If the criminals are buying amo for their illegally purchased firearms ( which they use in their illegal activities) then maybe law enforcement should focus on how they get their firearms in the first place, instead of how they are getting the amo to feed the devices. If this passes you can make a killing selling mail order amo to the gang bangers in the bay area and SoCal. I would offer discounts on case lots ... ( a little humor to show how someone in nevada could mess this law up)
