: help with mounting d60 to eb front
bent70 01-17-2002, 08:22 PM I could use some pics of eb frontends with rc60's connected. I am not using the c-bushings, but don't mind if yours do. What is the recomended centers on the axle for the coil cups? Do the coils have to be outboarded at all.
I am using a 79' rc60 and its fullwidth.

bent70 01-18-2002, 02:05 PM what nobody has a 60 in the front of their eb?
CrazyHorse 01-18-2002, 02:57 PM I'll have to borrow my roommates digital camera and shoot a few next week (he's out of town for the weekend), my coils mount to the c bushing like stock, and the D/s is just outboard of the center section casting, set the passenger side at an equal distance off of centerline, and you're good to go.

I left the drivers side alone and shortened the passenger side 5" to match the rear 60. Got my inner right axle from Moser for $140. It was a pretty easy job. Took a Saturday morning to narrow it and had it in on Sunday. The C-bush mounts came from an old 44. It took some grinding to get them to fit on the 60 tubes. I run a wristed arm on the right side and did a tie rod over using DOM and Chevrolet tie rod's.
bent70 01-21-2002, 09:36 AM Fearme you wouldn't happen to have the measurements for the coil cup centers to like the housing tubes would ya. Thats on a eb frame right I can't remember what you used.
thanks :D

FearMe 01-21-2002, 09:48 AM Standard EB frame. The lower mounting cup center to center are the same as on an EB, 44 or 30. To keep it centered under the truck with the 65" WMS I took half of 65" and made a mark in the center then measured half of the EB cup center's out from that. I think the Bronco cup centers are around 36" but you should check it.
clc900 01-25-2002, 10:20 AM FearME, is your front axle in the stock location? How much clearance do you have between your oil pan and the D60 pig? This 60 is HUGE! Also, how did you measure for castor when you welded the C-wedges on? I am not too familiar with castor. Or is it camber???:D

Yep. I put it in exacty the same place as the stock EB 44. One of the reasons I narrowed it the way I did and left the drivers side alone was that it located the center of the diff perfecty under the pan for the best clearance. With the springs and mounting I have the springs bottom out before the diff hits the pan.

See above
This 60 is HUGE!
Thats the idea :D

I'm not sure either. I went with 7degrees back from verticle. It might not be enough with the rear height of the truck so I'll probably install some degreed C-bushings.
The best way to put it all togeter is to just set it on stands under your rig a start measuring and looking. Don't get to carried away with getting it done over getting it done right. Once it's on the stands you can see a whole lot more.
As far as castor or camber, find someone local that knows a little about it and bribe them with  to come and help you

here's a pic of mine:
broncoboy 02-08-2002, 10:32 AM ive got a question. im a cheap bastard, and i cant afford to narrow the 60 so im planning on running it at 70 inches stock width out of a 78-79 f-350.
am i going to be able to have enough room to put this on with radius arms, or am i not going to have enough room.
im thinking i have to narrow it, i dont want to

CrazyHorse 02-08-2002, 11:12 AM mine's full width, it gets snug with the oil pan and frame rails, but I have my truck sitting low with lots of downtravel...

CrazyHorse 02-08-2002, 11:15 AM by the way, those are just transport wheels and tires, I'll be running 38.5x14.50's on hummer rims once my old parts sell...
