Big problem! I installed a TH350 automatic tranny in my Jeep with a Dana 300 transfer case. I also installed a B& M tranny cooler. When I went to start it, oil shot out (Gushed) either from or just above the oil filter. I thought it might be the vacuum line that attaches to the tranny so I unhooked it, filled it back up with oil and started it again with the exact same results. The engine ran great just before I installed the tranny/transfer case and cooler. Does anyone have any clue what I could have screwed up? :(

So you're saying it's spitting out engine oil after you swapped trannies? Check all your cooler lines, you might have kinked or broke one. Might have hit the oil filter with something during the install and broke the seal. Hope it helps.

That's possible, but I don't think that's the problem the way the engine oil is shooting out. I think it might have something to do with the transmission cooler lines but I don't know how they would effect the engine oil?

did you reroute the cooler lines or anything? does your engine have an engine oil cooler? what engine is it anyway? that'd help a lot.

was there a sending unit on that motor. theres a port directly above the oil filter that can sometimes have a oil pressure sending unit screwed into it.... it sounds like u managed to break it off, or crack it, and now have a pressure leak there

Did you poke a hole in the filter???

I'd have someone crank it over while you watch for the leak location. Disable the ignition so it doesn't start and make sure the oil is full. I'd key in on the oil filter and oil pressure sending unit. If you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge, check the pressure line. What engine are you running?
