I have just encountered a prob with my Radiator to motor there is prob 2-3 inches of clearance. This is with the stock radiator and I am planning on running a be cool or something to help keep the 5.0 cool. What I was thinking of doing doing is to either move the grill forwardso there is enough room for a electric fan or I was thinking of recessing the radiator farther into the grill buy cutting the latch out and running the rad against the grill slates. Has any one done any of these. Pics? Suggestions?
This may be ignorant but.....why not just run the fan on the other side of the rad?
what about a postal jeep grill, they have room for moving the radiator, looks kinda tacky but it would work:D

I don't want to run the fan on the outside of the grill I don't like the looks of that and I don't have enough room to run it on the other side of the rad as I only have about 3.5 inches to the grill slats.

I have an older CJ so mine didn't have the latch, but I did exactly what you are talking about. I cut all the way to the grill and mounted the radiator as far forward as possible. This way I could still run an engine mounted fan. Also even with only 3" or so inches on the front side of the radiator, there is enough room for a slim electric fan. My radiator is actually mounted on top of the front crossmember (just for an idea of how far I moved mine)

I had a five row built to my specs. My buddy has the same setup and we just notched the headlight cover?? to fit his radiator

When we did my cousins willys we took the inside of the grill slats and ground them down flat, then mountd the fan on the inside of the radiator. From the outside you could tell they were ground down flat.
