Although Ford changed the body style of the F series pickups in 1987 and added fuel injection to the 302 & 351's, they didn't start fuel injecting the 460's until 1988....right?

With that in mind, I think all port injected Fords started out with speed density and then changed the metering to mass air. I know the 5.0 H.O. changed to mass air in '89.

Does anyone know if the 460 went through the same change and if so what year it happened?

If you couldn't guess I am truck shopping, so any help is appreciated!!

The Mustangs may have recd MAF in '89, but Broncos didn't get it until '95 on CA models (I'm told), and '96 for the remainder, accompanied by OBD-II. I can't honestly say when the 460s recd MAF but I think it VERY UNLIKELY Ford would have equipped them w/MAF *before* the small blocks. Could be wrong....

I believe the 460's went to mass air in CA sometime in '96 or '97.
