Sorry, I posted this in General first. This may help others so I'll re-post here.

Hey all,

I'll be picking up a new die, 1 1/4" pipe but not sure on what size radius to get. It's offered in 4.5", 5.5", and 6.5". It makes sense that a smaller diameter would need a smaller radius but... There may not be much difference but for $200.00 I'd like to get close . I'll be using the 1 1/4" for upper bars on frt and rr bumpers, the main bar will be 1 1/2" pipe. What radius are you guys using for smaller dies? Thanks.

Pipe?

Call JD2 and ask what they have in stock. When I ordered dies I had an idea of what radius I wanted based on all sort of ideas. In reality they only STOCKED one size radius, but could make up the others by special order (6 to 8 week lead time).

Kind of made it easy on what to order! :)

Thanks, I give them a call. Just wanted some info before I called. I have a 1 1/2" tube die and 1 1/2" pipe die. I'll use tube for the cage. Alot of people like pipe for bumpers and sliders better than tube. Suppose to be stonger for that purpose??? Not sure that's why I'm here. Plus my dad has about 1,000 feet of schedule 40 pipe so with the current steel prices, that's reason enough :D
