Foxfab 06-15-2004, 09:01 AM GCLC puts on a great event. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to wheel with other Toys. Its on par with GSMTR.

HyCaliberConsecrator 06-16-2004, 08:02 AM Mike, At 4 weeks old she already forgot more than you ever learned. :flipoff2: Hope to see ya there.

climbermike 06-16-2004, 11:25 AM Helocat - got your email. Thanks, just sent you a reply. Greatly appreciate the help.
HCC - so don't worry, I'm sure she'll continue to teach you as she moves along. You know you won't be there. Probably make up some lame excuse that you'll only wheel if JH spots you or something :flipoff2:
climbermike 07-01-2004, 06:43 PM Just a reminder, 2 weeks left to work on your junk before the event. :D

is your junk gonna work?
wngrog 07-02-2004, 05:08 AM Fill me in again on what the controversy is on this event? Why is it not a TLCA sanctioned run? I remember it caused a stink under past TLCA management that it was in TLCA and in TT and was not sanctioned.
Notice I said "past"....
Anyway, I just thought I would ask seeing that it was super easy for us at LSLC to sanction the Roundup and we had all sorts of odd vehicles in attendance.
None what so ever that I am aware of.
Events may choose TLCA Sponsorship which equates to 10% of the profits and in turn they can gain access to insurance and Toyota Trails advertising.
This event chose not to pursue TLCA Sponsorship.
I believe it may have bothered our past EVP that notice was still given via the Chapter Report but it also helped us realize that all events, TLCA Sponsored or Not, offer value and opportunity to all Toyota owners; and consequently, Trails now posts Non TLCA Sponsored events in our calendar.
I'm sure the CMCC will be another success like all TLCA events this year, and if they will contact me off line, TLCA would be happy to send a couple goodies for their raffle. We can also send some extra Trails if they care to hand them out.
Many Thanks!

Tony, kudos to you for supporting the entire Toyota community, regardless of whether the events are sanctioned or not. Makes me proud to say I'm a TLCA member.

climbermike 07-02-2004, 07:10 PM is your junk gonna work?
Is my junk ever reliable? :shaking: :flipoff2: Been working like a fiend with the new plasma, welder and other crap in the junkgarage. Hooooooooooooooopfefully it will not self destruct. :flipoff2:
climbermike 07-02-2004, 07:19 PM Nolen, the prior administration had other plans. I won't get in to that, but I will state that I do not agree with the old. It's time for the new. Yes, I remember how quickly everyone from LSLC jumped up at the chance when ya'll first mentioned the round up.
As the new president of the club, my first priority is to get this ship turned around. That is not a slap at the prior leaders, it's just that they had run the club for a number of years and were burned out. We are getting our membership back in order and hopefully, after I get with Tony next week, will be able to put ourselves in good position to take the next step.
At this year's CMCC, I plan to ask the question of who is committed to helping us get a TLCA event up and running for next year. I want to make sure that some folks are ready to step in and help run it. It's about time we get a TLCA event out this way.
We get great support from other TLCA chapters like Yankee Toys and the TLCA. It's time that we start giving a little back.
climbermike 07-02-2004, 07:48 PM Tony, thank you for your continued support. It really means a lot to us.
We first had to make sure the club was solid and now since that has happened, we can move upward and onward. Will send you email. Thanks.
spalding 07-04-2004, 10:06 AM wow, cmcc six years old! i remember the first one. wheeling around with the running boards on my 80 trying not to put a scratch in it, spotting jon held over the smallest pebble..........
kear, what have you done to that 80 of your ???
nick
wngrog 07-04-2004, 12:10 PM I think the total amout of our 10% check was a whopping $150. If the club can't justify sending the parent club a little "shuga" after the event, then they are crazy.
I thought that was the case, I was just going to let you know that I truly think the TLCA ad and the insurance are worth it to saction the event, plus, I just think it is the right thing to do.
I have nothing but positive things to say about the way TLCA worked with me on sactioning the Roundup.
cruzer75 07-04-2004, 07:01 PM is it not also true the CMCC is and open event meaning anyone with any type of rig can come? which in turns means no TLCA sponsorship ect becasue there are non TLCA people/rigs at the event? just curisous cause thats what i remember reading in the by laws? yes? no?

Hey Nick. Wassup. Well, I bailed on the volvo portals and sold them for $500 more than I paid for them (rare as it's usually the opposite for me). As it is right now, I've spent a lot of time un-f#$king my truck from the asswh#les that previously worked on it. Seems as though everyone that touched it made it worse than before they got their money hungry hands on it. I can't complain too much (yeah right) as it's given me the kick in the nuts I needed to learn how to weld, machine and do some other crap on the fugly beater. Either tomorrow or Tuesday, I'm hoping to cut out the cargo floor. Not sure if I'll tear into this next project cause I don't want to be stranded without being able to run CMCC again (pig f#$kers kept me out last year).
Here's some pics of Dave's place on Mem Day

There's some other recent pics from our trip to PAP a few weeks ago on the same site.
How's your junk running? We were talking about you over Memorial Day. Wish I could say some of it was good, but .... :flipoff2: :D

Stew, yeah, I know what you mean. Part of the draw for CMCC has always been that everyone was welcome no matter what you drive. We may fling some crap at the other vehicles, but no more than at ourselves.
This is one reason why we are pursuing a 2nd event. The second would be TLCA sanctioned and CMCC would remain CMCC. Of course we need to find out if our club is up for it. Obviously, I'll keep you and Dave posted. If there is a way for us to work on this together, it would be cool.

Nolen, yes, I totally agree. Plus, I believe we should support the TLCA and do the best we can to get new TLCA members. It's the least we can do for all the support they give us. I've dropped off the LSLC list, but definitely remember the way everyone got on board quickly after the second event was mentioned. Hopefully we can see at least some replication of that enthusiasm.
wngrog 07-05-2004, 05:42 AM Why would you have to have a second event next year? It is not too late to do the CMCC as a sanctioned event starting in '05.
I am glad to hear the club is ready to play with others and be nice. It is a whole lot easier to just get the sanction and all the benefits that go with it than to make a big deal out of going off on your own.
Hell, Katemcy Rocks, where we held the Roundup has its own insurance like Paragon does but we got the TLCA stuff just in case it got ugly.....you know, Texican is kinda "Sue" happy ;)
