I have a friend with a 85 S-10 pickup truck. He would like to lift it about 2 inches. Can he get this lift with the torision bars and how high would he want to lift it before the cv axles would be in danger?? Another option would be to put a body lift on it, is there an problems he should know about when putting a body lift on??

if you ask this in the General 4x4 you might get more replys, usually takes a day for things to get answered in the chevy forum:D

He can get 2" of lift from turnin the torsion bars all the way up, and using a set of $10 shackles from PepBoys.

the tbar tweak can get you a little extra lift but you have to be careful so that your Cv don't bind. an body lift is a safe alternative it gives you the fender space you need and don'e affect you Cv angle. an body lift can be gotten from summit for 69 bucks and are real easy to put in i did mine in about 4 hrs with out any complications. as for special things to wathc out for: on a automatice ou have to extend the shifter likage about 2in with a peice of rod thatis provided with the kit. on the stick shift there is nothing that you have to extend. the 4wd shifter will sink down' low in the console but this can be corrected by a extend shift that Mark hall makes for S10s which is easy to put in and he don't charge that much to make them. if you need any info fell free to email me.
