I have a friend with a 85 S-10 pickup truck. He would like to lift it about 2 inches. Can he get this lift with the torision bars and how high would he want to lift it before the cv axles would be in danger?? Another option would be to put a body lift on it, is there an problems he should know about when putting a body lift on??
what does he hope to achieve with a 2 " lift ? bigger tires? just cut the fenders.

No maybe in the future, but the truck sits low and he only has one leg so it's kind of hard to get in and out of the rig.

I'm pretty sure that 1 to 1.5 inches is the max on torsion bars. More than that and imagine the cv's running at full turn constantly. They don't last long that way.

Some people have got 2" out of their torsion bars. It depends on how wore out your bars are. Crank em all the way up and use a cheap set of shackles from PepBoys. You really are better off with a real suspension lift though. It isn't worth the increased wear on joints and CV's.
I'm not a fan of cranking the t-bars & definitely wouldn't go more than an inch with 'em. I'd do body lift first. Some fender trimming would actually be his best bet since he has just one leg. With a body lift, let's say he goes up 2" in tire diameter. The tire will lift it 1" & the BL another 2", so he'd have to step UP 3" higher than now.
Now, were he to just trim the fenders & add 2" taller tires, he'd only have to step up 1" over the current height.

Another prob with turning the t-bars is the ball joints. They get put at non spec angles and don't last long.
