i just swapped my rear 12 bolt w/ 4.56's to a wide toyota rear axle with 5.29's and a spool. before swapping i ran the stock rear axle and front toyota axle (both w/ disc brakes) for about 2 months. bled brakes perfect before, and it stopped good (not as good as stock of course :flipoff2: ). then after throwing in the rear toyota axle with drums, that's when it really threw it off. now my brakes are very soft and dont brake until they are to the floor.

what could it be?

i am thinking maybe adjust the rear brakes. or maybe even a master cylinder or a universal proportion valve? i am also comptemplating converting the toyota to disc brakes by using the parts from the isuzu axle.

thanks

i dunno, i tend to say bleed some more. going from disc to drum in the rear isn't going to cause your master cylinder to be inadequet. wheel cylinders take a whole lot less fluid movement to activate than a caliper, so it should improve if anything.

Sounds like air. Re-bleed it again. M/C first, Right rear, left rear, right front, left front.

If that doesn't work buy some plugs for your m/c. Plug of the front, then the back. That'll tell you where the problem is.
