Question:
First to things first then details, I’m drawing up and building a Header for my F-head 134 72hp. Engine. Headers are out there for these things so before I started the fab work does anyone have one laying around or know of a flange that will bolt to an f-head?

Project Details:
As some of you know and some don’t I wheel and play with a 1959 CJ5, factory stock drive train, locked front and rear with 31 Good/year MT-R’s. I pulled the engine so that I could put a new clutch in and check compression. That is when it snow balled on me, since pulling the engine was, I have taken it to a complete drive train and motor over haul. I built an intake by piecing parts and machine couplers and collars. I split the tranny & t-case and put new gaskets and seals through out. The motor was stripped and new gaskets and seals where put in. Also a total engine tune-up was done with new parts top to bottom. The compression is great and everything so far has been in tip-top shape. I bought some factory decals and painted the motor all Bling,. Bought so braided steel oil lines to even bling some more! Here are a couple pictures of what's going on so far.

Here is a picture a F-head header this is what I want to build or find!

Did you fab or buy that disk brake setup on your 18?

You probably already know this but that looks like a Clifford Performance header.

If you need to make a flange couldn't you start with a gasket as a pattern.

Before you get it together I would try and get the cam reground. Clifford does this for about 90 bucks if I remember correctly.

Also weber carb and a pertronix ignition, but Im guessing you are trying not to spend any money.

Great intake by the way.

What is the goal?

I don't remember exactly but I was thinking I could get about 90-95 hp out of it.

I machined the disc and machined and fabbed the brackect that the brake mounted to the t-case with...

Here is a link to that set-up

My goal with the header was just see if I can make one and that is it.... :smokin:

Does This Flange Hole Pattern Dimensionally Look Correct?

Well, I got the quote on the CNC plasma cost for the flange..... I didn't like it so I just machined the darn thing..... :smokin:

Here is a picture... I'm going to work on the header this weekend if I get time and I'll keep the pictures coming... :flipoff2:

excellent ... keep em coming.

Are you going to go with a modern alt. or keep the generator. I had a problem with the generator not keeping up with really anything.

flange looks good to me but I never broke out the tape on the manifold.

I was going to go with a solex carb at one time so I could cut down the throat and go with a modern air filter instead of the oil bath.

Careful of those starters if your running 12V but it should hole up fine.
