: Rodeo High Speed Wobble

I have been getting a fairly pronounced wobble in my 2000 rodeo at speeds over about 60 mph.

Here is what I have done so far (unsucessfully) to eliminate the wobble:
New wires and wheels
Turned front rotors
Front end alignment
Repacked front bearings
Inspected ball joints and bushings

:(

nothing has worked yet.....

anyone have any experience with this or any ideas?

thanks!

when u say new wheels and tires, I assume you balanced them. You might want to have the balancing checked by someone else anyhow, sometimes the machines calibration (or the operatorīs for that matter) leave a lot to be desired.

also, do you have a steering stabilizer? if not that might be a good addition.

What setup are you running? (Lift, sas, etc.)

Yeah, I can't help you with your problem, but you may want to be more specific when you say "wobble". Like do you mean a vibration coming from a certain side, or steering wobbling back and forth or what exactly?

steering is wobbling side to side..... does anyone make a stabilizer for an IFS rodeo?

Based on what I know, a steering stabilizer is not going to solve your problem. It will only mask it.

A steering stabilizer is usually needed for bigger tires to counteract driving on uneven surfaces (off-road). If you are wandering/wobbling on the high way, you need to find out why.

Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful.

I would go back and see if your alignment was done correctly, if you feel strongly that everything else is good.

You should be able to get rid of any vibs on a stock truck. I have an 86 trooper and Have yet to this day had any of the problems you are talking about. Keep trying you will get it.

Is the Rodeo stock?
I noticed that i can get rid of the "Turtles" wobble(98) if I put
on my stock wheels.(00) When I switch back the wobble returns.
I think it has to do with the leverage applied to the steering rack (tie-rods)
from a different offset and they (tie-rods) are flexing.
