well i am going down to WV onn the 4th for some off-roading and being as my trail bitch is not finished it has been deemed to flog the DD amigo once again :D
The last outing i took the amigo on i missed doing some body damage by a hair. and well i want to keep it strait for as long as i can  so i decided to do some sliders and bumpers.

I still have to put a skid plate and some more gusseting on the front

ya i was like "fuck i need turn signals for the drive to work tomorow" so i tacked on some gussets and screwed the stock ones on till i make some LED shit for it.

size.....go to Home Depot and look in the pipe section :D SCD 40 is great for one thing. non-structual parts that will be beaten the shit out of and survive .

Not bad for a weekend with a harbor frieght Kink-o-matic 3000 bender :flipoff2:

use the higest point you go up as a mark for each angle. i have a mark scribed into the side of the "die" for 45*,90* ect. make a cheap angle finder using 2 pieces of 1.5foot long flat steel (dont matter what kind) with a bolted together on one end and a wing nut. place it against the outside of the tube and tighten the wignut and then use a "real" angle finder to see what you are at.
also a lot of it is just "eye-fucked" :flipoff2:

and it tested quite well this weekend :D

i have to finish my trail bitch first before i even think of welding anything other than parts for it :flipoff2:

get some cheap SCD 40 pipe and go at it, the only way to learn to make stuff is to fawk up some steel a few times first :flipoff2:

usmcdoc14----nice fab work!! Considering the tools you had, I like what you've done. The use of Home Depot water pipe is perfectly suited for what you did. Too many people think you must have DOM :smokin:

no shit.
i use DOM or HREW where it is NEEDED,i have found it holds up better for sliders and shit that will be dragged across rocks. The only thing that the pipe does is protect the body not me so i dont feel bad if $50 of pipe gets trashed saving a $150 fender or door :flipoff2:

but is someome wants to spend the cash for a DOM rockslider or bumper more power to them. :D
