I'm hoping ya'll go light on me, and this doesn't belong in the newbie section, but I'm curious to know how much I can reasonably expect to get if I sell the 12b in my '86 Chevy. (And I'm hoping for an answer other then "Slightly more then a pile of dog shiat" :D ) I figure I might be able to find someone building a Jeep or 'Zuk or something along those lines, and try and unload my D44 and 12b to make way for the D60 and 14b (WITH THE SPOOL!!! :smokin: ). I know this axle isn't exactly sought after in the 4wheelin' community, but I'm going to really press sellin' it on a drag strip or circle track forum site....

'Preciate the help, fell'rs!!

none of the drag or circle track guys want it, its WAY too wide, and uses all the (more expensive and harder to find) truck 12b parts rather than car 12bolt. Unless of course you find someone who doesn't know the difference, but when they figure it out they'll be pissed.

100$ is a fair price.

But unless you swaped the 12 bolt in to your 86....its acualy going to be a 10 bolt.

I hope I'm not going to be stuck with an axle that'll serve better duty as a stand for a coffee table then make me any money trying to resell it(hmmm....that gives me an idea.... :shaking: ). I'm hoping to get SOME $$ for it, just don't know what exact price to put on a terd, and where to sell a terd to  ???. I figure, if I could get enough outta it to recoup the cost of OEM 5.13's from drivetrainsuperstore, I'd feel like I was breakin' even, but now I'm thinkin' THAT might not even happen..... :(

When I purchased the truck (already built as a mud bog truck), the guy put in the D44 and the 12b. So, I know that it would normally be a 10b, but this (and has been reconfirmed by others) is a 12b'er.

im not sure on the price but its a great upgrade from a 10 bolt if you arent planning on running huge tires and it has 6 lugs and good clearance and im pretty sure the spring perches and shock mounts dont have to be modified

a friend of mine runs one under his blazer and it works decent

Don't look to the wheeling community to find a buyer. Look to the paper. there are plenty of people that need replacement axles out there. $100 is top dollar, depending on the gear. The only problem is finding someone that needs one at the right time. I sold one I came across for $73.50 (we were both Jews) and felt lucky to get it
