Thinking about running these on my pile and would like to know if there are any tech articles out there telling what is needed to be changed in order to run them, problems encountered, how much those pigs weigh, how they hold up to welding spider gears, what is done for front brakes, bolt pattern, engine or gearing to run them, and whatever else. Thanks

IMO(which doesn't mean much:D) the unsprung weight would be too much for coils...maybe if you went coilovers??? I don't know what I am talking about I think its too late:beer:

actually, i have several friends that are running coils on the rockwells. The unsprung weight does play a factor on spring selection but so far everyone has had good luck running wild horse 3 or 5" rockcrawler springs. the axles are fun and cheap to convert to disc brake set ups. go to swmudrats.com email jim mace from that site. i believe it s macej@sill.army.com but double check. he has diagrams and parts lits to get you started on the disc set up. like $100 bucks or less to do it yourself. oh here is another link for you. www.wagonermachine.com check out casey's cj hes running rockwells and coils. if you need more info email me

I'm running James Duff coils in the front which are just a bit softer than the Wild Horses so I figure I should be fine there and I am running 1/4 elliptic in the rear with limiting straps so that shouldn't pose much of a problem either. Thanks for the email direction I emailed him to see what he could send my way. Anyone got pics of 4 link set ups with these bad boys or a possible 3 link front? Thanks.

Go Rocks, they are sweeet. As far as link-type suspensions go, there is an inspection cover on top of the carrie, that uses about 10 3/8"(?) bolts. Any bushing or joint could be easily adapted to this plate, using a custom bracket that bolted down over the plate. CVall Jesse at High Angle for Driveline stuff, he's really helped me out. Call Boyce Equip. for parts and tech info, they really know what's up. Try to get 2 front ends, and setup rear steer. That way you can center the diff on one, and use it for a rear end. The non-steering rear ends do not have a centered pinion, and i encountered BAD drivetrain mojo, until i flipped one hub in, and moved the axle over so it was centered. Now i'm 6" narrower in the rear, but the bad vibes are almost gone...

Good Luck, send me an e-mail if you have any specific ??'s

How far off is the rear pinion flange from center? I am running a rear cv joint so that should clear it up so long as it wasn't too major. My pile doesn't see speeds of more than 20 mph due to my hampster toyota motor that would be pushing those pigs. How much do the front and rear end weigh? I hear that by ditching the drums, backing plates, and brakes you can knock about 200 off each axle right? Thanks again.

There is a guy in town here that has a set that I may do some trading with so I am not totally sure, but if you could check on shipping to Walla Walla Wa 99362 I might be interested. Also if you have a pic of a toyota with 3 link front and 4 link rear with the rockwells I would be interested to see that as well. Thanks a bunch.

I'd like to hear a description of how to set it up what rotors and calipers were used and how they mounted the calipers. Thanks Daniel.
