Set of 13" Leaf shipped to 84070. How tall are the bump stops and how far do they actually compress? Is the 19.51" compressed length listed on the website the length that the shocks will compress to with or without the bump, just curious since right now I have 24" to work with and want to make sure I'll have enough up travel. If the bumps stops don't compress enough I may not have enough.

Did you shocks bottom out before the bumpstop was fully collapsed?

Did you shocks bottom out before the bumpstop was fully collapsed?

Nope, I just think it happened because the hoop wasn't braced. I believe it just fatigued the frame over time. Time for fishplates and braces.

price on 2 13" coils delivered to 94568
If I pay can I have someone else pick them up for me?

Also, What do the bottomout bumpers compress to?
I have room for roughly 33" for shocks and only want 6.5" of uptravel max.

Just a little feedback. I have been running these shocks since April 2008. Not one single issue with the shocks. They are a great shock for the price.

Think I am going to do the 13's up front (coil sprung) I need to go and measure but I might be able to make the 15's work. Do you recommend these shaft up or does it matter?

65Chevy4x4
09-13-2011, 10:56 AM
It does not matter on these shocks since they have an IFP keeping the oil and nitrogen separate.

I bought 4x 13 inch coil versions. Had problems, they warrantied and replaced all 4 shocks, then the new redesigned version leaked again. I sent them all back asking for a refund but PP would not refund my money. They just replaced the bad one again and sent them back to me. They have been sitting inside the boxes in my shed ever since. Anyone want some very slightly used BBCS shocks? I have not spent a dime at Poly Performance since that experience 4 years ago. Ive spent over $25k in business to other vendors because they wouldnt refund $400 for shocks that failed me after each trail ride.

Im glad to hear you are doing better

What's the difference in valving between the leaf vs the coil designs (I did read the short explination about valving earlier) My rig sees a fair ammount of street time and I'd be worried they may be too soft in the valving. But since its a jeep, and folks have had good sucess on heavier rigs should be fine?

How would they compare to say the junk rs5000's on my rig now?

I am getting ready to build a one link and am going to use 1/4 elip leaves for my springs. Which valving should I use if I go with these shocks. They do look pretty BAD AZZZZZZ.

Also are the 15's back in stock for which ever valving you recommend.

Thanks!!

Anything on this?? I forgot to mention this will be on a chopped full size wagoneer being done to the rear and only running 35" boggers. I am guessing coil valving. I am more interested in the site only showing the 11" stroke units.

Thanks,

I ended up mounting them vertical because the rear sits so low and I wanted to have enough up travel to rail it at pismo.

Here are some pics

I still need to work on the front but the rear is great!

I was looking thru this awesomly long ass thread and saw your rig. Love the 1/4 elip. I have a full size wagoneer that I am chopping about 3 feet off and one linking (two links to be true with the panard) and going with the 1/4 elip. Which valving are you using. I am guessing it is the leaf spring since that is all that was offered back in the day.

Thanks,
Chris.
