Hey Newbie to Newbie, in regards to your transfer case ? the early cases are brittle and can break when running extra large tires and horsepower. Check out Don Anways site at www.tcase.homestead.com/

It is true, most of the 3-speed cases are weak. However, there was a 3-speed case, think it was 74, that had a stronger case. It has more ribs on the outside of it. Either way, I would run the case reinforcements.
As for your quadrajet, I just lowered the float on mine & it runs great. Goodluck.

FJHEAD, the problem with a quadrajet is that if you take the carb apart and set it at about 45 degrees, the fuel almost uncovers the primary jets in the front of the bowl, so I raised the float level in mine to as high as I could get it and still shut the fuel off when the float is up, there is an article inMar 2002 Fourwheeler about the Edelbrock Quadrajet #1910 and how well it worked, I also see they added a wedged spacer to tilt the carb a bit for better float performance......I also use a Cagle fuel pressure regulator so the carb does not overload at idle...........Frank
