: Sweet deal for me.....
Cliffy [JD] 01-19-2002, 10:23 AM I got hooked up with some 35x12.5x15" TSL radials for $250.00 I know it's not the good deal some of ya'll get (free shit) but I'm super stoked now I can start the real build-up. I guess I'm gonna trim my 3/4T calipers after all.
Anyway just thought I'd let ya'll know.

Hook me up with a deal like that please.....:)
Cliffy [JD] 01-19-2002, 06:10 PM My buddy also said he could get me a D60 housing Knuckle-to-Knuckle for 50 bucks, but it's totally stripped out and a little rusty inside and out. so I'm not sure about that one.

I say snatch that thing up it's 50 bucks well spent and you won't have no trouble getting your money back and then sum$$$$!
Joe V 01-19-2002, 09:30 PM I agree, I would keep it around as a spare housing :nuke: for when you eventually buy a complete 60.
However, if it is a High Pinon 60 you'd be better off just selling it to me for....75 bucks?:D
Of course I would have to pay for shipping too:rasta:
Cliffy [JD] 01-20-2002, 11:48 AM I'm just concerned about the amount of money I'd have to put into it to make it worth a SHIT!! I guess I could just use it for the knuckles and get a rear HP D60 from a ford, for a hundred or so, put some new tubes on it and have my dream axle.
The only thing I'm REALLY concerned about is that it has no SPINDLES (I think that's the part, between the outer knuckle and the rotor??) and how much would those cost.
ALSO I just got my 35X12.5X15's and I know I can make 15's fit a 3/4T D44 but NOT a D60, but it'd probably take awhile to build that axle anyway and by that time I'd have the money for new tires and wheels.
Anyway I'm probably just being :rainbow: and should just buy it, but I have no place to even put it. Plus where would I get shafts, and pinion (not the gear but the shaft) without buying a whole new axle, I should probably be asking Gearman or someone these questions, I have so many of them
Scout Dude 01-20-2002, 12:00 PM Randy's ring and Pinion carries spindles..I think that they are ~$150 each...the really hard to find expensive parts are the knuckles and bearing hubs...
BTW, on my Ford RC60...I am only able to keep the housing which is getting the long side cut and new tube on the other side, the "C's", the knuckles, spindles, and outer stub axles...My brakes calipers are history (switching to Chevy ones anyway), the rotors are fawked, the inners on 78-79 D60's are not able to be cut down (Gives me an excuse to get good ones anyways), Gotta ditch the 3.54's and the carrier (Running 4.56's). Basically, not a whole lot left of the original 60...but the deal was as sweet as they get though...well, for me living in Cali anyway.:D
Cliffy [JD] 01-20-2002, 12:31 PM So the only thing you're getting to keep is the housing and you have to buy all of the inners??
SO who sell's spindles?? I don't even know what a spindle looks like to be honest, I know what a knuckle looks like and a rotor but I guess I've never looked at or paid attention to a spindle.
$150 isn't too bad considering I'd probably spend months hunting down a pinion shaft (not counting pulling it) for a decent price.
I hadn't even considered that I'd have to buy calipers and all that other shiat too...damn!!! this could end up running me a small fortune, but then again it would be nice to be able to do a little at a time then try to save for a year to get one ready to go. And that's a BIG plus for me.
Hayraker 01-21-2002, 08:26 AM Cliff,
As for the carrier, ring & pinion, shafts, etc., do a search on ebay for "dana" and save it with email notice. Cheap parts for d60's show up every single day, like 4.56 $ 5.12 ring &pinion sets for $50 bucks. The only reason I haven't bought some 5.12 or 5.13(whatever?) is the fact that only one set is ever listed at a time and I need 2. There is an open 35 spline carrier on their now for $25 bucks, add a little 6011 or 7018 and you got a 35 spline spool.

Yeah there's a ring and pinion set on there right now for 21.00 and it's 4.10:1 just like i need, but I have to make sure my buddy still has the housing availl.
Thanks for the E-bay tip.
