I have a 80 cj5 that unfortunatly still has the dana 30, and upon repairing a broken passanger outer knuckle. but the guy that had this before me welded on the part where the tie rod connects and broke there, So my question would be can I adjust the power steering box to allow it to turn further, and no none of the stops are hitting. or a new frontend like a 44 that would fit under, maybe coilovers to get the leaf spring out of the way, The front of my jeep has been springovered and reversed shackled. maybe a hi steer d30. dunno.....
any help

You can not make it turn farther. I am confused as to what your actual problem is.
Can you turn farther one way than the other or is it the same both ways? If it turns more one way than the other its the drag link, if its both ways you probably have the wrong length pitman arm.

I am not sure whats going on, either how it looks it tough to say, but it does turn further one way, but it doesn't realy turn all that sharp, I think its like you say may be the drag link is out of wack, but none of the parts are different, I'll keep playing at the jeep of hard knocks

Heres the deal... I broke the External stering knuck on the passanger side, On it there was a 3 inch piece of steel with a ball joint socket to lift the draglink above the leaf springs, that steel piece when welded by whom ever I think weakend the knuckle horn it made that cast iron brittle hence the breaking, and so the repair I did was make that piece into a bracket and secured it on with bolts and other connecting devices and its secure but it must be allowing it to flex just enough to not turn the wheels all the way. when I jacked up the front end it allowed the wheels to turn fully till they hit the stops. so I guess I need some High steer d30's but I hate the d30's so is there a front end that will go under a cj5 that will still suff under and not extend my track width? I have in the rear a ford 9 inch thats cut down with currie axles any help out there?
thanks I can email pics if you have visual questions. I just can't think how to discrib it better.
thanks again,,,

I was wondering also if you could put high steer 44's on the d 30 if that would work or even fit
thanks
