Friend of a friend has a 88 FJ62 that I can probably get for real cheap. What I'm looking for is any feedback on whether or not the FJ62 is a good rig, parts issues, and any experience you may have had with one.

1988 Land Cruiser... good, bad or what? any input is needed and appreciated. Or do I take your silence as the answer I am looking for? As I do not know much about Land Cruisers I need some some help here. Thanks

if you want the space a wagon offers you cant go wrong with a cruiser. there are a good amount of aftermarket parts available, and doublers are just about to come out of the woodwork for them. we are all waiting for that.

Give me some details and I'll try to give you some parameters. How cheap is *cheap*? Does it have rust on it? Where is said rust? What kind of mileage?

An FJ62 is very much a Land Cruiser, but because of the auto tranny, fuel injection, and additional electrical systems (assuming it's got the power option), there are *more* things to take into account when buying one. Assuming everything is in good shape and the mileage isn't astronomical, they hover around the US$6K-$12K. A bargain would be towards the bottom end of that spectrum, somewhere between $4K-$6K. I don't think ANY US-spec FJ62 is worth $10K+, but some people are still asking the premium prices that became prevalent last year, before the market started to taper. If a US-spec with under 200K miles is going for under $4K, there *will* be issues with it.
