: On-board air for FJ60?

Another request for your experience! I am looking for a way to add onboard air to my FJ60. I have a "stock" 2F motor with TBI, so I can replace my smog pump (which is just blowing hot air right now).

I am considering replacing the PS pump with a Saginaw unit, and mouting it low (where the smog pump is), and fabbing a bracket for a York where the original PS pump existed...

Anyone have any ideas? Pics? I'd like to know I'm not crazy for trying this. :D

hey man! no you are not crazy. i did this on my 74 FJ-40/w 79 2F. power steering stays on right side of block .(facing front of truck). i fabbed a bracket for the york on the left side and updated to a gm large-case alternator (100 amps) at the same time. the alternator also serves as adjustment for the belt. this is assuming your 60 has 2 grooves on the crank pulley. power steer system runs just like stock. hope this helps. :emb:
