Hey all,
I think my carb or throttle pos sensor is screwing up. Started
on a big hill on the freeway at first I thought the tranny was not kicking
down, but it just lost all power from flooding. Smelled extra gas and lost
alot of power in the lower rpms but made it home by keeping the rpms up.

Was fine on the freeway @ speed without the hills in the upper rpms.

Pulled the air cover & it appears its flooding from the tube @ the front of the
carb connected to a little round unit with a black rubber boot & 2 wires.
Could this be stuck open, wondering what to check next or replace to solve the issue?

It just floods out & wont idle at all, I can keep it running if I gas it a bit,
but it just gurgles gas out the front tube. Ill snap some pics when I get
a chance.

If your near the Sacramento area & have some 460 carb experience I could
use some help. Any suggestions...?

If I have to replace the carb whats a good performace upgrade for the 460?
I need something California smog legal if I swap it.

Thanks in advance, looks like a great forum. Here is a pic of my rig. More
posted in the pic thread & better description. Cheers & Beers to all... :D

same thing happened to my 85 F250. The needle and seat in the carb is stuck open. You can buy a replacement from any parts house, or you can dump the whold.pile of crap and put something better on it. I've got an AFB on mine, but i'm not sure if it would pass CA smog
