Just thought I'd share some pic's from Prison Hill/Convicts Rock Pile day for the Sierra Stompers. This off road area is in Carson City and is 1 mile or so from civilization.
Here's Pinion Boy aka Glo-N-Dark right after he snapped yet ANOTHER pinion only 1/2 hour into the day.

Those are worn out 36x12.50 swampers. On 15x7 inch rims.

Hey Sloan, I am welded in the rear and open in the front. Once I go 1 ton, I will be welded rear, and probably a detroit up front.

Have you done the long run to the carson river hot springs.
Some of those obsticles look familiar. I used to live in the ranchos kickass places to wheel at around that area. Some places at the pinenut range are good. But my favorite has always been the trails off Laviathen mine road. Awsome sceanery and some pretty challenging trails. I and my wife spotted a huge bear and her cub on the high trail to the springs. I miss it alot up there, but my wife didnt like living there. Thanks for the pictures.

I have been on the majority of those trails back there. Leviathen mine road is pretty much that these days. With all the EPA people going out there and back. Makes for a nice 2 wheel drive but wheeling it is not anymore. We spend A LOT of time out at the hot springs. I can't wait to head out there again. Need some winter time camping equipment!!

Next time you're in the area look me up!

I'm not sure on the Specs on the full size chevy but I think Its got detroits front & rear and longer springs,12000 lb winch, welder, air, 350, atlas and a 5 speed.

I'd like to find some more trails out at laviathan mine Rd. What Ive seen is tough but doesn't go anywhere. other than the springs

that's ned bacon's old rig ... look through the back issues of one of the 4x4 mags, probably around 97 or 98, they did a several month article on him swapping in that solid axle when he built it up.
